✅ Pros

Basso includes its Comfort Kit with the frameset, which adds 20mm to the stack and blends in perfectly with the frame.
Review Pros
It has a sleek-looking frameset.
The subtle compliance in the chassis (especially in the fork) adds a layer that subdues road noise without making you feel isolated from the road itself.
Resplendent in white, red and pearlescent green, and lavishly adorned with electronic gearing and hydraulic brakes from their compatriots at Campagnolo, Basso’s Diamante SV Disc makes an immediate, and striking impression.
It is well suited to large and powerful riders.
It is an easy bike to handle.
It is very stable.
The frame is designed to take 25mm tyres maximum.
There’s that Italian passion and heritage.
Basso also manufactures its own wheels in Italy under the Microtech brand.
The comfort kit is stiffer than an unsupported stack, for a better handling bike.
The short wheelbase and steep head angle (73.5 degrees) make the Diamante a whip-fast handling bike.
It feels fast in a sprint, and makes climbing and cornering a pleasure.
The tight wheelbase and snappy steering geometry immediately put you in mind of a thoroughbred racer.
It is racy without the roughness.
The Diamante SV is offered in seven sizes.
It also looks superb.
It is stiff and robust.
It’s well appointed with expensive components and there is no doubt it performs well.
The 40-year-old company makes all of its carbon frames in its Italian facility.
It’s also beautifully crafted, gorgeously finished, and has fantastic tire clearance— qualities that are not insignificant.

❌ Cons

Basso’s geometry information does not include fork offset or trail information.
Comfort Kit will always be a potential noise source.
Basso bikes are lesser known in the UK.
The Microtech logos do look a little dated.
While the Diamante is an exceptional handling bike, it doesn’t provide an exceptional level of comfort.
It offers modest performance for the asking price.
This bike as tested has quite a hefty price tag at $14,500.
It is too stiff for lighter, less powerful riders.
Thick paint interferes with wheel and brake mounting.
The Basso Diamate SV comes up a little short on performance compared to the best race bikes in the world.
It might be a bit understated for some.

Review Summaries
The overall swift and responsive ride makes the Venta a great value choice for budding racers, or those who prefer their riding in shorter, faster blasts rather than epic days out.
The Basso Diamate SV comes up a little short on performance compared to the best race bikes in the world. But if you’re a person who feels that where a bike comes from is as important as how it rides, the Diamante SV—one of the only Italian-made, modern-looking carbon race frames—is a purchase you’re not likely to regret.
Basso includes its Comfort Kit with the frameset, which adds 20mm to the stack and blends in perfectly with the frame. The frame is designed to take 25mm tyres maximum. While the Diamante is an exceptional handling bike, it doesn’t provide an exceptional level of comfort.
The Diamante SV is an exceptional bike, and so it should be given the price. But for those looking for a classy, high performing bike with legitimate heritage…look no further. For the speed merchants; if cost is no barrier, I am sure this bike will not stop you reaching the top step. Fast, glamorous and indulgent.
The Diamante SV is Basso’s first attempt at an aero road bike, and while it is a sound offering, it is too heavy, stiff, and sluggish compared to the rest of the aero road bike market. It’s also likely to be more expensive, too. However, it is a remarkably stiff and sturdy frameset that promises to be a great match for big, powerful riders, which is something that seems to be in short supply in the current aero road bike market.
