These are pocket diapers, and inserts are stuffed into a pocket on the back of the diaper. Outer fabric is made from waterproof and breathable PUL fabric. Inner fabric is made from hypoallergenic and stain-free microfleece. It is the most expensive cloth diaper option on our list.
Before we even received the diapers, I figured we’d like them. What I didn’t expect, however, was that they would quickly (almost within a day) grow to become our favorite pocket diapers. Pumpkin looks so cute in these, and they fit him perfectly. The front opening pocket also makes these super easy to use and clean. Bottom Line: Yes, I would rebuy these. And in fact, I bought a few more after we received our initial 3.
Based on measurements and look, this diaper seems like it would actually fit from newborn (or pretty close) up to potty training. They’re also reasonably priced, and I really appreciate that each one comes with two inserts. Bonus for how many colours and cute prints Charlie Banana offers!
My overall recommendation is that Charlie Banana is a good buy. No wicking, easy to stuff, cute prints and colors, simple to adjust, moderately priced and widely available.
Charlie Banana is a hybrid diaper like GroVia, but puts whatever liner you use—cloth or disposable—on lockdown. Cloth liners are inserted into a front-loading pocket (to avoid having to pull the liner out through a poopy mess in the back) while disposables are held on by an end flap. Soft fleece along the back makes for a comfy fit.
I love that these diapers already have print options, some of which are very boy friendly. The OS is similar to others on the market, and it is easy to adjust.
The inside of the Best OS Diaper is lined with a soft microfleece material. This fabric lets moisture pass through to the insert inside the pocket but remains dry against baby’s skin. It has snap closures. Charlie Banana diapers are available in a wide range of colors and prints, ranging from bold to pastel and from chevrons to skulls. However, it is difficult to stuff.
Charlie Banana one-size nappies are well designed, comfortable and durable. They wash and dry well and can work from 3 months to the toddler years, but they aren’t that different to others on the market. A choice of natural fibre inserts would also be a boon.
Overall, we’re loving our Charlie Banana one-size diaper and 2-in-1 swim diaper & training pants. They’re high quality, fit great and work very well! The elastic sizing system in the one-size diaper is so easy to adjust and I was able to get a great fit on my little guy. I love that it’s a hybrid system, which give parents and caregivers the flexibility of using reusable or disposable inserts. I also love Charlie Banana’s adorable prints, especially the Target exclusives.
Charlie Banana also sent me a full size container of their brand new laundry detergent! One container holds enough powdered detergent to wash 80 loads of laundry. It’s safe for cloth diapers and great for using on all of your household laundry. It’s free of dyes, perfumes, brighteners, and phosphates. My son has sensitive skin and we didn’t have any issues using this detergent.
These are our absolute favorite cloth diapers, and it seems that many other parents agree! They use the hybrid system so, just like a disposable diaper, the inner and outer part of the diaper is one piece. You just have to stuff the pocket with inserts that you can pull out and change when the diaper is wet.
All in all, I would say I never had any regrets choosing this brand. It has served us for more than 3 years, and I can forgive whatever disappointment it has given us from that point onwards.
Charlie Banana Feminine Pads are an all-in-one pad with no inserts and a waterproof layer to guard against leaks. Since these aren’t handmade, there is more consistency in the product than some other brands.
If you’re struggling to get the right fit with other one-size diapers in your stash, especially if you’ve got a baby with skinny thighs, Charlie Banana may just give you that perfect fit!
Charlie Banana diapers are a high quality hybrid option that have all of the great features of standard pocket diapers but can easily be used with disposable inserts as well.
