Review Summaries
“I really enjoyed using the Litelok. It’s a lot tougher than it looks. It gives me loads more locking options when the bike racks are full. It’s really easy to carry. And it’s incredibly light for a high security lock with so much internal space. So if these things are important to you, then I recommend you take a good look at the Litelok.”
“With a new angle grinder resistant material, rubber coating and a nice mount for your bike, the Litelok X1 is a really great product. Coming in at £149.99, it costs more than many people’s commuter bikes but if you want to keep your bike safe, it seems worth the spend.”
“After using the Litelok Core to secure my bike for over 6 months, I can comfortably say that I’m really impressed. Sold Secure Diamond rated security levels on a lock of this size and weight is unheard of.”
“If you carry your security on your bike, the weight saving might be less attractive than something that takes up a similar (or less) space, but with a higher resistance to attack. Ultimately, the vulnerabilities of the Litelok don’t make it an ideal product, so unless weight is a primary concern to you, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.”
“You could buy two Kryptonite Fahgettaboudit Minis for the price of a LITELOK X1 , but as I discovered during destruction testing, the X1 is almost eight times more resistant to angle grinders than the Fahgettaboudit Mini. For the incredible security and peace of mind that this lock provides, the price tag seems very reasonable to me.”
“Any lock can be beat by a determined thief, but this a weakness that LiteLok should improve if they want to maintain their Gold Standard rating. Ultimately: I’m shopping for a new lock. I want something I can trust to keep my bike secure without putting pressure on my spokes.”
“The LiteLok X1 bike lock is an excellent addition to the product portfolio from this respected brand. If you need to step up the security there’s the LiteLok X3 too, which is more expensive but features an even more impressive locking mechanism. Either way, both D-lock designs feature a dazzling three-layer construction, with a magical material called Barronium making life harder for thieves and their angle grinders. The LiteLok X1 is topped off with a brilliant eco-rubber outer layer, which guards against scratches and rub marks if you’re the type to hang a lock on your frame.”
“The LiteLok X1 is a premium-priced D-lock design lock, which is suitable for most bike types just as long as you don’t need lots of reach. The dimensions are practical enough so it can reach around your wheel or frame and something else too. That high-end price tag likely comes as a result of having a layer of Barronium in the construction, which the manufacturers claim will give bike thieves and their angle grinders a very hard time. There’s a rubberized coating and weatherproof lock cover too, which along with the two keys makes this D-lock the perfect package.”
“The Litelok One Wearable impressed us with its security and portability. We like how convenient this contender is to lock and unlock if you’re constantly on the go. However, a few flaws keep us from wholeheartedly recommending it. With a few upgrades and revisions, we think the Litelok has the potential to be a top contender.”
“As a bike lock for e-bikes, standard bikes or even motorcycles, it’s one of the best locks you can buy for the money. It does everything you would ask of it. Litelok says that, due to the high demand for this lock, you will be looking at a 10-14 day lead time on dispatching the lock. Such is the case when you make a lock that performs as well as this one.”
“Litelok doesn’t claim the X1 is angle grinder proof, and it’s not, but it takes two cuts to free a bike and a single cut will trash a grinder disc. That’s enough security for most bikes in most situations and it comes without tradeoffs in price and useability.”
“Like any lock, the X1 is at its best when used properly, so how and where you lock your bike is equally important as using a quality lock. The X1 combines conveniently light weight, a great mount and truly impressive strength, especially against angle grinding. It’s an expensive lock, but what price securing your bike? I wholeheartedly recommend the Litelok X1.”
