❌ Cons

You can’t buy each add-on individually.
It was not initially designed to be a theme that works with any page builder, so with that there are options that you will not be using.
It has fantastic customization options, but they are limited to colors, size, and other elements which doesn’t actually add much difference.
I’ve noticed people occasionally requesting features that are missing, that I’ve thought would be useful for my audience of non-coder graphic designers.
The free version is limited in features.
My long-term concern is that the developer is not really a fan of page builders despite it being the main driver of sales.
Using GeneratePress Premium for the first time can be a bit overwhelming.
There are some things that don’t make sense in the customizer.
If you want a niche-specific theme, you can probably save time by buying a theme that fits your requirements for your niche from day one.
You might have a similar design with other users.
Although I’m completely fine with paying renewals to get updates and excellent support, some bloggers dislike this model.

Review Summaries
It is indeed one of a kind theme and a theme you should be using. GeneratePress opens doors for many possibilities. You can customize your website and each post/page individually any way you want and make your blog stand out.
If you want a niche-specific theme, you can probably save time by buying a theme that fits your requirements for your niche from day one. But if you’re willing to spend some time changing settings, GeneratePress’ style controls give you the flexibility to turn it into any type of WordPress site. Or, you might even be able to find a starter site that fits your needs to save some time.
GeneratePress Free version is ideal for casual bloggers, and GP Premium is bang for the buck. I highly recommend GeneratePress to both WP beginners and experts.
GeneratePress is a rock solid choice for you to build your website on. Many highly experienced developers use GeneratePress for all of their projects. Pair that with the amazing support that Tom delivers and you have the perfect theme for just about any website project.
I have tried hundreds of WordPress themes over the past 7 years, and GeneratePress is by far the best theme I have ever used. This is what really sparked me to write this review. If you are serious about quality and performance, you need to give it a try.
The GeneratePress WordPress theme is a different kind of animal. It’s light and very well optimized, but it’s also flexible and offers various customization options. And all that at a low price. Even lower after the first year. So, if you’re not looking for a theme with all sorts of features (e.g. sliders, testimonials, portfolio, and so on), but for a simple one that can still do a very good job, then you can’t go wrong with GeneratePress.
GeneratePress is a featured theme that can be used as a base design for creating and building websites. The theme was built with the aim of creating a product that caters to different needs and can be used as a basic tool for different purposes.
GeneratePress is a great WordPress theme for developers, and it can even be great for those experienced with at least one pagebuilder plugin. If you don’t want to start with the basic free theme, you can purchase the available add-ons, as stated before. You can’t buy each add-on individually, unfortunately, but they’re all available for a low price of $39.95/year.
GeneratePress is everything I look for in a theme. It’s fast, lightweight, affordable, easy to customize, and very flexible when a project demands complex custom development. Other than eCommerce projects, where Storefront’s deep integration with WooCommerce is invaluable, GeneratePress is my go-to theme for WordPress site development.
Choosing the right WordPress theme is an important decision because you want to stick with it for many years to come. And that is why I did my due diligence before purchasing GeneratePress. I’m now happy I made the switch from FocusBlog to GeneratePress, it has exceeded my expectations. One more thing I should mention is that GeneratePress is 100% mobile responsive. It looks and performs amazingly well on mobile and tablet. You can test this yourself by opening this article on your mobile, if you’re not there already.
GeneratePress is a very wonderful WordPress theme, but I don’t think it’s for everyone. If you’re looking for a niche specific theme, you might probably consider buying a theme that perfectly fit your niche requirements. However, if you’re happy to spend some time configuring things, GeneratePress give you the flexibility to transform it into any type of WordPress website. Or, you can even save time by finding a starter site that fits your needs from the demos.
GeneratePress is an excellent theme for those looking for something lightweight and flexible. It’s not bloated with lots of features like many other themes. It’s a good choice for those looking for a well-developed, basic theme that they can customize on their own. Those looking for more customization options without having to code should consider purchasing the GP Premium membership to get access to all the addon plugins.
I didn’t plan to stick to a single WordPress theme for long but after using GeneratePress, I’m confident that I’m not switching to another multipurpose theme ever again. It offers everything you can ask for – affordable price, speed, features, customization, and excellent support by Tom. Give GeneratePress premium a try and I’m sure you won’t be able to revert back.
The primary person opting for GeneratePress is the simple blogger. This is someone who’s tired of complicated customization tools on the backend. The blogger needs a way to get content generated and posted quickly. The blogger requires beautiful post types without too much clutter. Last, but not least, the blogger is in search of a theme without any coding problems that’ll weight the site down. Luckily, the GeneratePress theme is one of the more impressive free WordPress themes I’ve seen in awhile. I’d recommend it to most small businesses and all bloggers.
