❌ Cons

The wide variety of membership options and functions available may be overwhelming.
The only thing that I could possibly complain about is that if you plan on developing membership websites for other people then they will need to purchase their own licence.
Canceling or pausing a membership does not stop recurring payment with providers.
It’s not the cheapest option.
Even if you’re someone who uses niche features, there are more than you’d need for a single site to be effective, and it can make it hard to navigate all the options.
As with all WordPress plugins, speed and reliability can be an issue.
I still don’t like the Wishlist UI.
It’s not the cheapest thing on the market.
It only works with WordPress 4.0 sites or newer versions.
A member doesn’t have access to manage its subscription. They also can’t change their credit card info once they buy a subscription through it.
It is not modular.
There is partial AffiliateWP integration.
When you are a beginner and learning how to use the WishList member through WordPress plugin it’s confusing at the start.
There’s no free trial with WishList Member.
There’s no free option.
There is lack of user management and reporting options.
It can be overwhelming with all the options.
Self-hosted membership requires more service resources.
Wishlist doesn’t have (global) coupons options.
It’s membership site plugin, not an online course plug in.
It is missing reports.
It doesn’t help you build any modules within the content bins, so you’ll have to find a workaround for that.
Beginners can be overwhelmed with tons of features at once.
Wishlist doesn’t integrate well with BuddyPress.
There are so many features and options that it can be overwhelming.

This platform is one of the easiest and most affordable ways to achieve success. If you already own a WordPress hosted website, it’s often the most sensible option you can take.
No other competitor has managed to build such a strong product with such a strong community, so this is why you should choose Wishlist Member and not any other software or plugin.

With Wishlist Member, you can easily create and manage your membership site without programming knowledge. Wishlist Member integrates with many other services to provide a complete membership experience for your users. With Wishlist Member, you can offer your members exclusive content, forums, courses, and more.
Overall, Wishlist Member 3.0 is a great example of what can be done when a company takes the time to update and rethink it’s client experience, and while it still has areas it could improve, in the last year it has gone from a C+ option to an A and regained it’s place in the top tier of membership plugins.
If you asked me a year ago if I would use Wishlist Member, the answer would be a resounding “hell no”. But this new version has caused me to have a change of heart. Wishlist Member is the only membership plugin that integrates with the tools I use. No other membership plugin has shown interest in adding integrations as Wishlist does. The price is right at $147 for a single site license (compare that to MemberPress or others). It’s the best value for a membership plugin I have come across.
WishList member is one of the biggest membership plugin which can make a WordPress site into a fully functioning membership site in minutes. The story of them coming back to the top with their latest version is amazing.
If you’re doing that kind of old-school style affiliate marketing, I think yes. But if you’re looking for a host-it-yourself type of membership site. I think other plugins like MemberPress or Restrict Content Pro are better.
You’re ready to start teaching, and with Wishlist Member, you can bring everything to your students and audience in a fast, intuitive manner. Out of all the WordPress plugins devoted to selling courses and having memberships, Withlist Member is one of the best. Apart from the payments, features, and all the other excellent benefits you get with Wishlist Member, you do have some restrictions compared to full LMS systems, so keep that in mind. For a one-person army who wants to make the most out of their WordPress site, Wishlist Member is definitely the way to go as long as you have the time to deal with manual membership options.
MemberPress is one of the best membership site plugins for WordPress. It has all the features you need to sell membership subscriptions and courses on your website. You can create paywalls around any type of content, making it easy for visitors to pay and manage their memberships.
I highly rate this plugin and have absolutely no regrets for purchasing the Multi Site License. The only thing that I could possibly complain about is that if you plan on developing membership websites for other people then they will need to purchase their own licence. Slightly clutching at straws for a drawback there but I really haven’t had any other problems with the software.
Overall, WishList Member is a plugin I would happily recommend to others and use on my own sites. It’s very easy to get started with and has enough depth to meet any needs I could envision when setting up a membership site.
Wishlist Member is not the cheapest thing out there at the moment, although, it’s not the most expensive either. It’s a mid range product. But if price is the only thing that you are worried about, then Wishlist Member might not be the option for you. I really love using Wishlist member.
If you want to set up a membership site and be in full control of it, you definitely need WishList Member. You won’t have a monthly fee, you won’t be linked with other brands like you would if you were to use Teachable, Thinkific, etc. The customer stays on your secure site and gets his/her content like clockwork – and it’s all protected. It doesn’t get better than that.
